Tonight, I felt a little blue, searching for stars, yet finding them just out of reach. Perhaps I’m just tired from the whole day, but I can still see His grace tonight.
Growing up is both exciting and lonely at times—especially when the people you used to be with now seem so far away. This transition may feel different, but you’ll get through it, slowly, even though it deeply hurts. It’s part of the process. There are new things to learn and old things to unlearn. It won’t be the same, and that’s okay; the most courageous thing you can do is to learn to stand on your own feet and keep living by faith.
Welcome to adulthood!
Here, people start weaving lives of their own, chasing dreams, passions, desires, and destinies. Some embrace love, commitment, and family. Some venture to new cities and reshape their careers. Some have a child’s laughter filling their home. Others dive into the thrill of starting a business. And maybe you’re here, wondering, “When will it be my turn?”
It’s okay to feel the weight of blue days. It’s okay to sit with disappointments. Let every feeling flow through you; don’t suppress them. Then when you're ready, slowly let them go, and look at the person you see in the mirror—the person you’re becoming.
I hope that whenever you feel discouraged, you find grace in each day.
You’re doing well! You can still tumble into bed and dream. You can still see your loved ones each morning. You can still smell the flowers in the garden. You can still taste your favorite foods. You can still hug your loved ones. Your mom and dad never fail to love you and believe you’re already successful in your own way. You can still walk and search for your purpose. You can still speak and connect with people. You can still see the sun, moon, and stars, which remind you that you’re one in a billion. You’re already blessed with life here.
Look for it, and you’ll see how blessed you are.
Some people might have everything, yet struggle to sleep at night. Others may look happy and successful on social media but are filled with worries and doubts. Some may have traveled the world yet still feel lonely and empty. You might not have everything, but if you have peace in your heart, you’re doing well.
If you can still share, even when you have little, you’re doing well. If you can still serve others and live not just for yourself, you’re doing well. If you can still persevere when life gets tough, you’re doing well. We sometimes think success is defined by titles, wealth, fame—everything we could name. But, in the end, it’s about how well we’ve lived. All those things will be forgotten when we’re six feet under. They’re good to have, but life isn’t about that.
Comparison steals joy; never let it be part of your story. You’re doing well. Others may remind you of what you lack, but remind them of what you’re grateful for. If you can still hope and speak light in the darkness, you’re doing well! If you can still summon courage and pursue your purpose, even when no one else believes, you’re doing well! If you have peace, joy, and love—you’re doing well!
Those things that are unseen hold the most weight.
Find grace each day, and you’ll realize you’re doing well.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9
