You're starting to wonder what it feels like to be loved. Is your feeling right?
When you find yourself in the midst of falling in love, it's important to be patient and not rush into anything. Falling in love shouldn't make you feel like you're falling off a cliff, nor should it make you feel blind, insane, or reckless. If you're experiencing any of these things, it's possible that what you're feeling isn't really love. It's essential to be cautious when it comes to love, as sweet words can be misleading and even harmful.
Love is complex, and it can be full of twists and turns that could be dangerous if you're not careful. If you're constantly searching for signs or confirmation that what you're feeling is love, it may be a sign that you haven't really fallen in love yet. If someone is making grand promises about your future together, writing beautiful oaths, sonnets, or poems that mention your name, it's important to be careful. These words might be impressive, but they could also be misleading. It's essential to read between the lines and have a sound mind. Love can be powerful and loud, but it can also fade away over time.
And when love hits you home, if you feel like you're walking in love, it's important to take a chance and embrace it. When love comes knocking at your door, bringing fresh flowers to you and your family, learn how to welcome. When love looks at you, even when you're messy hair, pimple marks, dark eye bags, smile back. When love talks and walks with you about your dreams, fears, and hopes, listen carefully. When love gives peace and security, and assurance-- throw-away some superficial standards. When love is never hidden, both loud and quiet at the same time, slowly enveloping and consistent, take a chance.
When love comes because the fruit of waiting is ripe, surely it won't taste bitter but sweeter. Probably when you're done with your studies and when your brain is fully developed. The fact that brain development is not complete until near the age of 25 years refers specifically to the development of the prefrontal cortex. Most brains don’t reach full maturation until 23–25 years of age. I mean you are more rational in this age and not too emotional, yet at times emotions might overpower you and you need more help and guidance. But above all guard your heart for the heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9
But if no one is coming to your door yet, you don't have to chase dear, to find possible places where you can meet the one. At times, it's just in the corner, looking and gazing at your beauty: letting you grow in the cold nights and lonely streets, teaching you to stand still amid difficulties, listening to your dreams and hopes in your prayers at night, and holding your hands tight in every fight you have. The love that sees every mess, every broken parts of you still chooses to love you. The love that restores and heals. The love that redeems and forgives. This consistent love.
This is how you should be loved--it stands the test of time. My dear, you are fully loved.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
The waiting season can feel long, but it might be a time for you to grow and blossom beautifully: to develop a closer relationship with God before others, to fully give your heart to Jesus before others, and to expand your horizon by taking a leap of faith. God knows every bit of you, your desires, and your silent prayers. Everything that matters to you, matters to Him as well. He sees all your efforts and you will reap a harvest if you wait faithfully, prayerfully, and courageously for the One whom you serve.
As it is written, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.” Psalm 37:4-6
