Take Me Where You Are Tonight

Inspired by the song Face of God, I was brought back to my 2022 writings—raw, honest, a little lost, but still holding on. This song speaks volumes. It reminds me that God is real. He is a good Father, a faithful friend, and a gentle lover. Unseen, but deeply felt. In those quiet, searching moments, He was there all along.

Take me where You are tonight,
Just like when I was little—
In awe of every little thing You say,
In every story You write,
In every canvas You create,
In every breath You breathe.

Take me where You are tonight,
Just like before, when crumpled papers
Scattered around, unafraid—
Because I knew You sat beside me.
The deep connection,
The desire and wanting,
The begging and waiting,
The mourning and laughing.

You never left,
Even when I had nothing to offer—
Only empty hands and a sinful heart.
But in my shame, guilt, and fears,
You ran toward me.

Take me where You are tonight,
When I kept searching for signs, wonders, and miracles—
Too foolish to believe Your promises were already true.

Take me where You are tonight.
Hold my hands, secure me in Your arms—
Just like before,
When I desired nothing else,
When nothing else mattered, as long as You were here.

Keep me again in Your strong arms,
Just like a feeble lady,
Just like a little child.

Take me where You are tonight—
Take me where You are.
