Despite everything,
I’ll still cling to You—
Now I know Your promises:
They are all beautiful and designed for our good.
I will still praise You,
For Your love is eternally absolute—
Shown on the cross and enduring forever.
Though I hold back my tears,
Though I have yet to see the fulfillment of Your promises,
Though the land yields little fruit,
Though my loved ones remain unhealed,
Though everything else crumbles,
Though the things I long for do not arrive,
Though my prayers seem unheard,
I will still place my hope in You,
For You are my hope.
Even when the world fails, Your Word remains.
I will be still, knowing You are a faithful God—
A good Father, a loyal Friend, and a forgiving Savior.
You are my refuge in times of frustration and despair.
Even when my poems no longer rhyme,
Even when my letters lose their warmth,
And my stories end in defeat,
I will still pick up a pen and write to meet You in the corner.
To reflect on how great You are,
To recall the wonders You have performed,
To remember the battles You’ve already won,
To behold Your love displayed on the cross—
How You gave Your Son, enduring suffering no man could bear.
Yet Jesus overcame the world,
And because of Him, so will I.
I will hold my heart with courage and stand again.
For the battles, I cannot fight
Were never mine to carry.
I can surrender them all to You
And move forward with hope.
I once felt helpless and hopeless,
Like all was lost.
But here You are, rewriting my story,
Redeeming me in ways beyond my understanding,
Forgiving the sins I’ve held onto,
And giving me the grace to breathe—
So I can live again,
Full of hope, full of love, and full of praise.
In this life, You never leave me alone.
For You promised:
Emmanuel has come—
God is with us.
Forever by our side, You will not abandon us.
You cling to us, rescuing us from the depths of our sin,
For Your love covers a multitude of sins.
How great You are!
How holy You are!
How beautiful and wonderful is our God!
We can live like Jesus and dwell in Your presence,
For the Counselor walks with us,
Guiding our hearts and revealing who You are.
Through the Spirit, who knows You completely,
You unveil Yourself to us.
We are never helpless, hopeless, or purposeless,
Even now, You are at work,
Writing our stories with wisdom and grace.
We can trust in Your ways and perfect plans,
Living our lives fully satisfied in You,
Working for the advancement of Your kingdom.
We find the strength to face each new day
Until we see You face to face
And stand before You, where the faithful saints have stood.
What a beautiful promise for those who believe in Jesus' name!
