To the One Who Grew Up in a Broken Home, But Still Finds Hope

'}}

These past few days have been heartbreaking, listening to stories that seem so unfair. Growing up in broken homes has sadly become the norm. Children carry the effects and burdens of their parents' choices—children who simply long for happiness.

Hey, you're seen and heard. I believe many children have become the airbags of unhealed parents. I know how you feel. It’s overwhelming, isn’t it? Growing up is hard, especially when your home, the place that should have been your safest refuge, wasn’t. You constantly search for happiness, yet it feels so elusive. You want to run away, but something always holds you back. Even when happiness visits, you can’t help but worry—it feels fragile, like sadness is always lurking, ready to shatter it.

Those fears creeping in feel so real, don’t they? I don’t have the perfect words to calm your trembling voice, to dry the tears that won’t stop flowing, or to respond when I hear your pain. Your words bring me back to my own struggles, my own wounds.

But let me tell you this: I admire you. You’ve shown strength beyond your years. If I were in your shoes, I’m not sure I could have handled it the way you do. Your home should have been your safe place, and I’m so sorry it wasn’t.

Yet, there’s one thing I’m sure of. There is someone who can be your true safe haven. He’s been there all along, watching you grow and waiting for you to come to Him. He sees you, values every tear you’ve tried to hold back, and invites you to release them in His presence. With Him, you don’t have to pretend to be strong—it’s okay to be weak. His strength is sufficient for you. His grace is enough.

I’ve heard stories like yours since stepping into this season of my life. They resonate deeply, each one like a reflection of my own journey. It’s hard to talk about these painful truths—the realities you wish you could forget. And yet, my soul nudges me to write. These words, though imperfect, are born out of a place of understanding and empathy.

I hope and pray that you meet Him—right at the corner of your fears, worries, and struggles. He’s not just a good friend or a good Father. He is the embodiment of home. In Him, you’ll find peace, joy, healing, and truth. You might not understand everything about Him at first, but as you draw closer day by day, you’ll get to know Him in ways that will transform you.

He’s only one call away. So, when your heart feels heavy, when anger and despair rage within, just utter one prayer. He’s listening.

Come, beloved. He’s been inviting those who are weary and burdened, offering them rest. For He is gentle, warm, and humble in heart, and in Him, you will surely find rest. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light.

His love is strong enough to keep you warm, His arms strong enough to hold you tight. Though His feet are firm, He will never run away. His words bring healing—even to your broken bones and even when you're in a broken place.

Do you know who He is? He is the one who has loved you since the beginning. From the day He lay in a manger, to the day He was nailed to the cross, and until the moment He rose from the dead—He has proven His love for you.

His name is Jesus. He knows every kind of suffering, and because of this, He understands you deeply. To all who believe in His name, He offers the gift of life—a life filled with purpose, meaning, and eternal hope.

Though suffering may arise now, it is not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed to you. Even if you are in a broken place right now, there is a home awaiting you—a place where every tear will be wiped away. There will be no more death, no sorrow, no crying, and no pain, for the former things will have passed away.

Take heart! He has been with you all along and will never leave you. There is hope in Jesus, and you can receive as much of Him as you desire. In Him, your story does not end in defeat. His grace is enough, and through Him, hope is always available.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3-4

For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Romans 8:24-25

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.Hebrews 11:1

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12
